TNF update

Since ultra results are so hard to come by, I figured I'd just take a moment to highlight yesterday's Northwest Region Endurance Challenge. Just as a quick aside, the course was very well marked, much to the relief of all runners. Nikki Kimball won the women's 50 mile, and I won the men's 50 mile race. Krissy Moehl was the overall winner of the 50k. The 50 mile and 50k courses were very rugged. My watch logged 10,500 feet of ascent for the 50 miler, and Krissy said that she'd logged 6600 for the 50k. When I have a bit more time, I'll post a more complete write-up.

I logged 6611 for the 50k, which I actually was surprised by because it didn't seem like that much. Krissy looked great when she passed me; quite inspiring and motivating to see her so strong late in the race.

Congratulations on a super run Saturday Brian! I'm really sorry I didn't get to see you at all (you might have seen me sprinting up to the starting line the opposite direction as you all were headed out onto the course...oops), but was really glad to hear you ran so strong and came away with the win. Anyway, just wanted to say congrats, was looking for your email address, and stumbled upon your blog, so again, awesome job and enjoy a down week this week! Hope to see you out on the trails again soon!

Thanks for the congrats, guys! I had a great time out there. What a spectacularly brutal course that was.

Sam, I did see you sprinting to the starting line. I also heard Nikki say that she was glad she didn't ride with you. That makes for an exciting start to a race.
